[ BHAGAVAD GITA · 2.44 · spoken by Krishna ]

Attachment steals the mind. A stolen mind cannot resolve.

For those deeply attached to pleasure and power, whose minds are carried away by such longing — the resolute intellect is not established in samadhi.

SANSKRIT

भोगैश्वर्यप्रसक्तानां तयापहृतचेतसाम् । व्यवसायात्मिका बुद्धिः समाधौ न विधीयते ॥२-४४॥

KRISHNA’S LINE

The resolute intellect cannot plant its roots in a mind already claimed by pleasure and power. You cannot serve two masters. Loosen the grip first. Then the buddhi can settle.
