[ SANSKRIT TERM ]
भक्ति· bhakti
Devotion. The path of love as a discipline of attention.
MEANING
Bhakti is one of the three primary paths the Gita offers (alongside karma and jnana). It's devotion — but the Gita is careful to specify: devotion to the highest reality, however you can reach it, in whatever form lets you give yourself fully. Chapters 7-12 are largely the bhakti-yoga sections, with Chapter 11 (the Vishvarupa) being one of the most overwhelming visionary passages in any scripture. Modern reading: bhakti is the structured practice of love as a way of being. You direct your attention, your time, your care, your decisions toward what you most deeply value. Slowly, your life starts to look like that.
